James L. Walker (1845 – 1904)

jameslwalkerJames L. Walker, aka “Tak Kak,” was the man that created Egoism in America. Inspired by Adam Smith, Herbert Spencer and then Max Stirner, it was him that first used “Egoism” to refer to this worldview, though the term had been used as a short-hand for “opposite of altruism”.
